Letoon, Xanthos, and Sdyma are among the most important cities of ancient Lycia. With the establishment of the Lycian League in the 5th century BC, Xanthos became the political and cultural center of the region. Letoon, on the other hand, came to the forefront as a religious center with its sacred areas dedicated to the gods. This region, which continued to develop under the influence of the Hellenistic period from the 4th century BC onwards, also became an important settlement area during the Roman Empire period. The structures belonging to the Roman period offer impressive examples in terms of architecture and engineering. Sdyma, although a smaller settlement, continued its existence during the Roman period. Today, these ancient city ruins offer an important archaeological site for those who want to explore the history and culture of Lycia. Feel the history with every step...
